Coca-Cola initiative

KATHMANDU: The Coca-Cola Company is committed to the economic empowerment of five million women by 2020.

As a part of this initiative, Coca-Cola works with retailers and distributors, focusing on refining business goals and personal skills for women at work. In Nepal, Bottler’s Nepal Ltd, the authorised bottlers of the Coca-Cola Company in the country, has pursued an approach of empowering women, teaching female retailers how to incorporate better sales strategies into their business models.

BNL’s sales team explores the market in search of retailers who need training, and those women attend the sessions that are a part of The Coca-Cola Company’s global 5by20 initiative to empower women. Till date, more than 3,000 women retailers have been trained under this initiative; with a target of 10,000 by 2020, as per a press statement. As a part of International Women’s Day, and the celebration of women throughout the month of March, BNL will be continuing the Shopkeepers Training and Resources (STAR) programme.

For this month, particularly, BNL will facilitate personal interactions between successful and established women entrepreneurs with women retailers.
