Cooking gas is Rs 50 cheaper per cylinder now

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation on Thursday slashed the price of cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas) by Rs 50 a cylinder.

The government-owned fuel monopoly said the decision was made in order to give an ease to members of the public as they are approaching major festivals including the Dashain and the Tihar.

Now, a cylinder of cooking gas costs Rs 1,325 against the existing Rs 1,375, according to the NOC spokesperson Bhanubhakta Khanal.

The new pricing would come into effect from midnight today.

The NOC, however, has not changed price of any other petroleum product today.

It has been learnt that the NOC was earning a profit of Rs 111 per cylinder while selling cooking gas Rs 1,375 a cylinder.
