FNCCI signs MoU with HRSN

Kathmandu, May 6

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has taken a step further to better the human resources management practices prevalent in the country. It signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Human Resources Society of Nepal (HRSN) for the said purpose here today.

The agreement was signed by Shekhar Golchha, vice president and chairperson of FNCCI-Employers Council and Kumar Joshi, president of HRSN.

As per the MoU, the FNCCI and HRSN will form an alliance to network on a common platform to promote good employment practices among employers in the country consistent with labour standards of the International Labour Organisation.

This move is expected to facilitate better employer-employee relations.

According to the MoU, HRSN will also assist FNCCI to respond to particular human resources needs of enterprises and thereby build capacity within FNCCI to provide services to its members.

One of the major activities envisioned in the MoU is for a human resources needs survey to be undertaken to ascertain the needs of enterprises, and based on the findings of the survey, an action plan shall be formulated to address those needs.

Moreover, based on the action plan, human resources services will be introduced.

The MoU has also mentioned of creating joint network forums for the business community where matters concerning human resources and industrial relations will be discussed and deliberated on. Awareness building programmes on employment, employability and entrepreneurship for small and medium enterprises, youths and vulnerable groups shall also be conducted.

To implement the action plan, an executive committee will be formed comprising of three representatives each from FNCCI and HRSN.
