Global IME brings EMV chip cards

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank has become a hundred per cent EMV card complaint bank to issue different types of domestic and international cards as ‘Security and Risk Mitigation Measures for Card Present and Electronic Payment Transactions’.

The latest offering will allow consumers to transact securely at ATMs, POS terminals and most importantly would contribute towards making the Nepali payment domain more secure. Global IME has always been extremely cautious on the security aspect of electronic transactions. Earlier, it had introduced forceful PIN change system into card system to give confidence to cardholders.

Further, EMV cards will make card based transactions more secure, which in turn will give a boost to cashless transaction system in Nepal.
