KATHMANDU: Himalaya Airlines has announced its first direct scheduled flight to Doha, Qatar from the end of this month.

Starting May 31, the Nepal-China joint venture airline will fly its new Airbus 320-214 from Kathmandu to Doha on a regular basis .

“We feel honoured to announce that we are starting our first scheduled flight to Doha on May 31st 2016 with a purpose to advance tourism and business amongst Nepal and Qatar and strengthen the relationship between the two nations," Himalayan Airlines Vice President Vijay Shrestha said at the official announcement of the flight today.

According to him, the airline is committed to providing "customer service with a flavor of Nepali Culture".

The Airbus 320-214's passenger cabin is configured with 150 economy and eight business class seats.
