Honda celebrates 50 glorious years in Nepal

Kathmandu, April 20

Syakar Trading Company, the authorised distributor for Honda motorcycles and scooters in Nepal, and Jyoti Group celebrated 50 years of Honda in Nepal at a grand event held on Thursday, in Kathmandu.

Honda is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. The ‘Wings’, recognised worldwide as the symbol of Honda two-wheelers, arrived in Nepal in 1968 under the initiative of Jyoti Group. Jyoti Group in its modern corporate form was established by Maniharsha Jyoti in the 1940s. Currently, under leadership of Chairman Padma Jyoti, the Jyoti Group of Companies offers a diverse range of products and services.

Syakar Trading Company (STC), one of the companies under Jyoti Group, which was formally known as Syakar Company — established in 1976 — is now sole authorised distributor of Honda two-wheelers, Honda cars and Honda power products in Nepal. It officially changed its name to Syakar Trading Company on June 7, 2011.

To celebrate this journey of 50 years, Honda has come up with ‘50 Din Ma 50 Tola Sunn’ scheme under which on the purchase of any Honda motorcycle or scooter, customers get a chance to win 50 tola gold in 50 days. Along with this, they will also get a scratch coupon from which they can get cash discount from Rs 4,000 up to

Rs one lakh.

From importing 11 units of Honda motorcycles in the beginning, STC now imports over 60,000 Honda motorcycles and scooters every year.
