IOC starts filling petro products to some Nepali tankers: NOC

KATHMANDU: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Monday allowed some fuel tankers from Nepal to fill up petroleum products, according to the Nepal Oil Corporation.

However, it would take a few days to adjust the adversity in the import of petroleum products caused by obstruction in supplies for 10 days, the NOC said.

With the IOC supplying fuel to some tankers, the supply is expected to be at ease within a few days, said NOC Executive Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka.

The NOC on Friday had written a letter to the IOC drawing the latter's attention towards no progress in the supply of petroleum products from India to Nepal.

Nepal has witnessed a severe shortage of fuel following obstruction in supplies from India to Nepal for past two weeks.

In regular time, NOC has to import up to 4,000 kilolitres of petroleum products to adjust the demand in the country.
