Minister appeals UK investors to invest in hydel, infra sectors

Kathmandu, March 23

Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi has appealed to different businesses in London, United Kingdom to invest in hydropower and infrastructure sectors of Nepal.

Amid an event in the UK today, which was hosted by Lord Mayor Andrew Parmley of City of London to mark the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Nepal and UK, Minister Joshi said the two aforementioned sectors that have immense growth and investment potential.

“Nepal is ready to roll out the red carpet to investors, especially in hydropower and infrastructure development, as these sectors are the bottlenecks for Nepal’s development. The government is very much serious about creating a favourable environment for foreign investors,” Joshi said.

Similarly, Joshi also said that Nepal is currently focusing on making doing business in Nepal much easier and safeguarding investment of any type. As per Joshi, the untapped potential of hydropower and infrastructure sectors of Nepal offers a huge opportunity for all foreign investors.

More than 100 British businesses and government bureaucrats had attended the event.
