‘Natural Nepal' promoted in Mid-East

Kathmandu, April 26

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has offered its diverse tourism endowments to the Arabian travellers from the entire Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at the Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.

Termed as ‘Silver Success' or 25th edition, the ATM kicked off on April 22 and concluded today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, as per a statement issued by NTB.

“The largest tourism fair in the MENA region has provided an ideal platform for tourism promotions and the most convenient channels to communicate with the surging number of outbound visitors. Under the theme of ‘Responsible Tourism', ATM 2018 attracted over 2,500 exhibitors from 153 nations who interacted with over 40,000 travel professionals.”

NTB, along with Nepal Airlines and seven Nepali travel trade participants, promoted the rich natural and cultural endowments of Nepal. Responding to the overwhelming interest of travel professionals, networking companies, online travel agents (OTA) and prospective visitors of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, the Nepali delegates provided valuable insights on the tourism opportunities and unique tourism attractions in Nepal.

“We witnessed a sea of change in the MENA region and consequently more and more visitors are keen to explore adventure destinations like Nepal, which is popular for adventure tourism,” the statement has quoted a visitor who had attended the ATM.

Nepal is already popular as an adventure destination in GCC as Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Bin Fahd of Saudi Arabia had successfully climbed Mt Everest on May 19, 2012, and reportedly became the first Saudi Arabian to climb seven summits and the highest peaks in all seven continents.

Similarly, Raha Moharrak became the first Saudi woman to climb the highest mountain when she reached the summit of Mt Everest on May 18, 2013, as per the statement.
