Nepal, Bangladesh begin talks on operating direct bus service

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Bangladesh have begun talks at the ministerial level to operate direct bus service between the two countries.

The discussion was held between Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bimalendra Nidhi and visiting Bangladeshi Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader on Monday, according to the Transport Ministry's senior divisional engineer Prabhat Jha.

Both countries decided to go with the preparatory works to operate Kathmandu-Dhaka direct bus services.

It may be noted that Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) signed the Motor Vehicle Agreement (MVA), aimed at promoting interregional road connectivity on June 15 in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

Bangladeshi Minister Quader who arrived here on Sunday returned home later today, the Ministry said.
