'NRNA Japan to support govt for promotion of Nepali products'

KATHMANDU: An agreement has been signed between Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Japan Chapter President Sudan Thapa for the promotion of Nepali products in the international market including Japan.

Minister Joshi, who is currently on a week-long visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese government, signed the agreement in Tokyo, said Minister Joshi's Press Advisor Pradeep Chapagain.

On the occasion, Minister Joshi expressed his confidence that with the execution of the agreement, the domestic products would get international market and thus contribute to the job creation and economic growth in the country.

Present at the agreement-signing ceremony were the Nepal Rastra Bank Deputy Governor Chintamani Siwakoti, Tokyo-based Nepali Embassy's charge d'affaires Krishna Chandra Aryal, NRNA Japan Vice-President Bhaban Bhatta and NRNA Asia Pacific Coordinator Kiran Bikram Thapa.

Meanwhile, Minister Joshi held a meeting with Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary-General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in Tokyo.

During the meeting, the two discussed mobilising Japan's cooperation for the industrial development of Nepal.

The Japanese leader also pledged further support for the post-quake reconstruction effort, according to a press statement released by the Ministry of Industry.

Minister Joshi is returning home on Saturday.
