NYEF to organise summit to promote women entrepreneurship on Saturday

Kathmandu, January 16

The Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) is set to organise ‘Young Entrepreneurs Summit-Women (YES-W)’ on January 20 (Saturday).

The fourth edition of the one-day event will be organised here with an intention to promote women entrepreneurship in particular and entrepreneurship in the country in general, as per YES-W Committee.

“There are various obstacles to promote entrepreneurial growth of youth in the country. The YES-W will basically intend to inspire young people planning start-up projects and motivate them to become an entrepreneur,” said Juna Mathema, chairperson of YES-W.

Moreover, Mathema added that the event would be a double benefit platform for participants as they would not only be able to float their entrepreneurial ideas and showcase their products, but also get motivated by other young entrepreneurs who have successfully started different business ventures.

As per YES-W committee members, key women in entrepreneurial ecosystem will be sharing their experiences and success stories during the single-day event. Along with experience-sharing, the event will have inspirational talks, panel discussions on scopes and challenges of entrepreneurship in Nepal, different workshops and networking activities.

NYEF is hosting the event this year with a slogan ‘Connect, Collaborate and Create’ intending to connect possible women entrepreneurs and their ideas, offering a platform for collaboration and helping people to capitalise on their entrepreneurial thoughts.

Prasanna Basnet, one of the committee members of YES-W, said that the summit will provide a platform for young women entrepreneurs to learn and network through their innovative business ideas.

YES-W has planned to draw at least 150 participants in the summit. While entry fee for general participants has been fixed at Rs 2,500 per person, the charge for students has been fixed at Rs 2,000, informed YES-W committee members.

NYEF is the apex body of young entrepreneurs in Nepal and has been organising training programmes, idea exchange programmes and fellowship to boost entrepreneurship among youths.
