Rupee at fresh low

KATHMANDU: Nepali rupee will have depreciated by 69 paisa to a new all-time low of 117.65 vis-à-vis US dollar on Thursday, as per the exchange rate of Nepal Rastra Bank.

On Wednesday, each dollar used to fetch Rs 116.96.

The last time the Nepali currency had tumbled to an all-time low was on September 19, when it was valued at Rs 117.07 against the greenback. International media reported that high global crude oil prices and weaker domestic shares will continue to keep the downward pressure on the Indian currency, with which the Nepali rupee is pegged.

It had touched a life low of INR 73.42 earlier in session on Wednesday.
