Tihar-focused market monitoring from Sunday

KATHMANDU: The Department of Supply Management and Protection of Consumer Interest (DoSMPCI) has said that it would start market monitoring targeting the upcoming Tihar festival from Sunday.

The department is planning to carry out special inspection in the domestic market almost 10 days ahead of the Tihar festival to ensure that customers are not cheated in the quality and quantity of products.

DoSMPCI Director General Kumar Prasad Dahal informed that four separate inspection teams have been formed to monitor Tihar market. “These inspection teams will mostly focus on products like sweets, oil and ghee, among other food items, that have higher demand in the market during Tihar,” said Dahal.
