Top Nepali start-up to compete in global start-ups competition

Kathmandu, July 30

A top Nepali start-up will get an opportunity to take part in the global competition of start-ups that is going to be held in Copenhagen of Denmark, in November.

Antarprerana, a company that supports entrepreneurs of Nepal through investment and mentorship, has organised Creative Business Cup (CBC) Nepal and called for applications from start-ups to take part in the competition. The winner of the CBC Nepal will get the opportunity to pitch its idea at the CBC Global Final that will take place in Copenhagen, as per Om Rajbhandary, chairperson of Antarprerana.

He urged the potential start-ups to submit their applications for CBC Nepal 2018 and represent Nepal in the global final where they will get the chance to showcase their product to potential investors from all around the world.

The applicants of the CBC Nepal will be judged by a jury team comprising of eminent experts and corporate houses. The prize amount for the winner is 7,000 euros and entrepreneurs will get opportunity to meet investors, mentors and business experts from different parts of the world.

The CBC is a part of global initiative of Global Entrepreneurship Network. Through the CBC, business competition in creative sectors is held annually in Denmark. It is the first time that Nepal is participating in the CBC led by Antarprerana as a national partner. This time, it is expected that more than 100 companies from across the globe will be participating representing their respective countries.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Nepali entrepreneurs and start-ups to get this kind of platform where they can share and learn from global innovators,” said Suraj Vaidya, former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. “Nepal has the potential to be a mini-Silicon Valley.”
