|Himalayan quake toll reaches 104|
MANGAN: Rescuers have found another five bodies in the debris of a powerful earthquake that hit northeastern India, Nepal and Tibet, bring the death toll to 104.
Police said Thursday that the five bodies were found overnight in India's Mangan area, close to the epicenter of the magnitude 6.9 quake that hit Sunday evening.
Indian air force spokesman R. Sahu said helicopters were able to ferry more relief workers to areas cut off by the quake now that weather was improving.
He said other aircraft dropped rice and other foodstuffs in nine inaccessible villages.
