| PM turns good Samaritan‚ donates USD 2814 to ERF |
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has donated USD 2814 to the Earthquake Relief Fund (ERF). According to his personal website, he deposited USD 2314 that he received from the state coffers as travelling allowance while visiting New York to attend the 66th session of United Nations General Assembly, and USD 500 that his US-based mentor Eleanor Elkins gifted him at the ERF. Dr. Bhattarai had left for New York on September 18, the day 6.9-magnitude hit Nepal and neigbouring Sikkim of India inflicting a great loss of life and property.
