NUWAKOT: Nepali Congress central member Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat has said the country would get new constitution within May 27.
After inaugurating a health clinic at Kabilas on Saturday, leader Mahat claimed that the latest agreement has taken ahead the peace process to a final point, adding the constitution would come by concluding the peace process within the stated time.
Dr. Mahat, who is also the member of army integration special committee (AISC), further said the country has entered into new consensus after April 10 and that the peace process is on the verge of conclusion following the Maoist arms and armies coming under the purview of the national army.
The Maoist party is in course of transforming into the civilian party by mending the mind-set of capturing state power through ballot, he added.
Another leader of the NC, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat stressed the need to set up federal system in the country based on geography not on the basis of ethnicity.
