KATHMANDU: An organisation of District Development Committees has demanded that political parties include provisions in the new constitution that guarantee three tiers of governance at the local level.

In a statement, the Association of District Development Committees of Nepal stressed the need to ensure local autonomy and empower local bodies. “In keeping with international practices, there should be federal, regional and local governments to ensure local government,” the association said.
