KATHMANDU: District presidents of Nepali Congress (NC) across the country have demanded that a new government be formed under NC’s leadership to relieve the country out of the existing political chaos.

During the second day of the second national conclave of the NC, which is underway in Barhabise of Sindhupalchowk, so far 52 district presidents have advised the party leadership to pick up a candidate for the post of prime minister immediately and alleviate the political and constitutional hurdles which have been afflicting the nation in the wake of the dissolution of the CA.

During the closed session, the party district presidents also demanded that the Congress should be ready for the Constituent Assembly or parliamentary poll and shouldn't favour the agenda of the CA reinstatement.

The gathering is likely to be extended for one more day though it was earlier said to last till Tuesday.

Accumulating all the opinions and impressions, the gathering will issue Barhabise Manifesto, said Nuwakot district president Jagadish Narsingh KC.

Party presidents have also pressurized the central leadership to call a general convention at the earliest to resolve the internal and organizational rifts in the party.

The national gathering was inaugurated by NC President Sushil Koirala Yesterday.

Twenty district presidents aired their views on Monday.
