KHOTANG: At a time when CPN-UML Vice-chairperson Ashok Rai is working to form a new party after quitting UML, the party district committee in Khotang, the home town of Rai, has stood against party disintegration.

The district committee stood against split, stressing that a way-out must be sought by holding discussion on the agendas forwarded by the disgruntled leaders.

The extended meeting of the district committee recognized the need of keeping party intact and decided to combat disintegration, said Vice-chairperson of UML Khotang District Committee, Babi Chamling.

Even if party breaks apart, no one will tread outside the party line in Khotang, said Chamling.

Leaders and cadres close to Vice-chairperson Rai are also not in favour of party split.
