SANKHUWASABHA: Incessant hailstorms in the recent days destroyed cardamom, the main cash crop of the district, worth million rupees in the northern part of Sankhuwasabha district.
Farmers said that the hailstorms completely destroyed the cardamom, potato and maize, wheat and barley crops in different VDCs including Jaljala, Syabun, Num and Barhabise in the district.
Farmer Datemba Sherpa of Jaljala VDC said that the farmers of the VDC used to produce around 400,000 kg cardamom every year.
