DANG: The Executive Council meeting on Monday piled pressures on Judicial Council member and Law Minister Brijesh Kumar Gupta to make the names of judges public who tried to bribe him in Tulsipur.

Law Minister Brijesh Kumar Gupta had revealed that the lawyers had tried to influence him with 1-2 million kick-backs for appointing them to the lucratic post of justice.

Concluding that the state has failed to penalise the human rigthts violators, the meeting called on the political parties and the Constituent Assembly to promulgate a democratic constitution within the deadline.

Meanwhile, the council has also called for the parties to draft human rights friendly constitution, form Truth and Reconciliation Commission and extend the tenure of the Office of the High Commission of Human Rights until the peace and constitution writing come to a logical conclusion.
