KATHMANDU: The hardliner group of the Unified CPN-Maoist Baidhya faction has expressed dissatisfaction over the 11th amendment of the Interim Constitution despite nod by the senior leaders of the major political parties in Wednesday’s meeting.
The meeting of the senior leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, and CPN-UML had forged consensus for the amendment of the constitution to resolve the problems appeared during constitution writing process by forming an experts' team for state restructuring.
The Baidhya faction has expressed the dissatisfaction as the terms of reference of the experts' team was not clear, said UCPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung. He stressed on the need for having further discussion on state restructuring.
However, NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC said the experts’ team should not be transformed into a technical team.
Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal, NC leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ramchandra Paudel, senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Nepal and others were present in the meeting.
It is reported that the meeting also dwelt on formation of the commission for the disappeared, and the truth and reconciliation commission.
