KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has given assurances to join the present Government after the outstanding issues in the constitution making process were resolved on Tuesday.
The meeting held between UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML at the UML Headquarters at Madannagar, Balkhu today concluded with a decision to first resolve the outstanding issues in the constitution making process, said UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, following the meeting.
The issue of participation in the government would also be resolved only the dispute issues in the new constitution are dealt with, he said.
At the meeting, the UML urged to forge a consensus on the issue of state restructuring and forms of governance and gave assurance to join the government after the consensus, he said.
Dahal also said a consensus was nearing, and that the issue would be resolved soon.
As a consensus was almost reached at the meeting of the senior leaders of the three parties on the contentious issues of the constitution, the matter of giving the present government full shape would be discussed after a consensus is reached on the issues first, said UML leader Bhim Rawal.
