HETAUDA: Ever biggest haul of narcotics in history, police on Monday confiscated 110 kg of hashish concealed in a truck (Na 3 Kha 1617) heading to Hetauda from Tistung during security check at Bhainse of Makawanpur district.

Police have detained traders duo Kanchha Lal of Tistung VDC-2, and Bir Bahadur Bal of Tistung VDC-1. Similarly truck driver Ghana Shyam Chaudhary (24) and assistant truck driver Prabesh Yadav (14) of Rautahat have also fallen into the police net.

The narcotics was confiscated while Kanchha Lal (43) was ferrying it for Birgunj-based trader Bishnunath, informed SP Purna Chandra Joshi of District Police Office, Makawanpur.

According to police, the hashish was concealed at the bottom of the jerrycans topped up with ghee. Preliminary investigation suggests that Harka Lal Gopali of Kunchhal had sold 55 kg of hashish to Bir Bahadur, said SP Joshi. Area Police, Palung, have also arrested Gopali on Monday itself.

The confiscated hashish is priced at Rs 1 million in the local market while it might be traded for millions of rupees in the international market, said police.

Further investigation is underway.
