KATHMANDU: Undeterred by the recently enforced Special Security Operation in Kathmandu, four separate incidents of robbery were reported in the capital city yesterday.
Two unidentified persons befriended Dan Kumar Chyamini (52) in Sundhara and rendered her unconscious by offering her spiked drink before fleeing with 1.5 tola gold ornaments. Chyamini of Swoyambhu Kimdol was later found unconscious in Baluwatar, police said.
In a separate broad daylight incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from Narudevi Ojha, a resident of Dadheldhura, in Thapagaun. Ojha was walking on the road.
Likewise, an unidentified gang broke into the Shantinagar-based rented room of Rita Kumari Choudhary of Parsa and fled with valuables worth Rs 257,000.
According to a complaint lodged with police, a laptop, four tola gold and five tola silver were burgled from the room.
In another daylight robbery, three-tola gold ornaments and Rs 7,000 were reportedly burgled from the house of Bijaya Shrestha in Bhangal, Chapali Bhadrakali- 8. The house was unattended when the incident occurred.
The culprits are still at large.
Police officials said separate search operations had been launched to nab those behind the crime.
