47.16% regular‚ 13.70% exempted examinees pass SLC

KATHMANDU: A total of 2,08187 students, including both the regular and exempted examinees, have passed the SLC examinations this year, putting the pass percentage as 41.97.

According to the results published on Wednesday late afternoon, 47.16 per cent (1,97,638 out of 4,19,049) examinees under the regular category passed the exams, while only 13.7 per cent (10,549 out of 76,979) of exempted students could be successful. The pass percentage for boys is 51.81 and for girls 42.26.

The Office of the Controller of Examinations said that the examinees who have failed in only two subjects can take the supplementary exams starting August 1.

The OCE had decided to grace maximum five marks to the students who could not obtain pass marks in not more than two subjects.

As many as 17,760 students, including 7,144 girls, have scored distinction marks in the examination that is considered as the iron gate of the school education.

Under the regular category, 77,257 examinees obtained the first division marks while 93,830 passed the exams in the second division and 8,791 in the third division.

Likewise, under the exempted categories, only 126 examinees — 15.10 per cent (83) boys and 12.63 per cent (43) girls —could obtain the first division marks. As many as 7,595 exempted examinees passed in second division and 2,828 in third division.

The results of 927 students —461 regular and 414 exempted— have been cancelled.

The exams were conducted in 1,748 examination centres across the country in March.

The results, along with the marks obtained, can be seen at the OCE’s official website (www.slcresult.soce.gov.np) and Nepal Telecom’s www.slcc.net.np. However, the date of birth of the examinee is a must.

The symbol number of passed examinees can be viewed at www.moe.gov.np and www.doe.gov.np.

Also, the results can be obtained through SMS.
