MAHIMA THAPA
My heart started pounding while entering the school. I grabbed my mother’s hand and my eyes were looking for the classroom with label IX ‘B’. I saw it and I pulled my mother towards it.
My mother started communicating with my class teacher but on what I can’t remember. I was just eagerly waiting to hear my position and percentage. The suspense was unbearable. So I asked, “Please tell me my position.”
My teacher laughed and congratulated me. And with a smile, she told me that I secured the first position.
I was very pleased but suddenly I felt somebody patting me on my back.
Irritated, I cried out, “Who is it?”
It was my mother trying to wake me up. I looked around, it was my room and I was lying in my bed with my mother beside me saying sternly, “Nani, today is your report card distribution day, so get up.”
I remembered my grandma saying that morning dreams often come true. So, I got up from my bed with the hope in my heart that my sweet dream would come true.
