KATHMANDU: Nepal beat Kuwait by 78 runs in their first match of ACC U-16 Elite Cup played at the Bayuemas Oval in Malaysia on Friday.
Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first and made 179 runs off 32.4 overs at the cost of all wickets.
Nepal's Nurdhwoj Sen contributed 47 runs and Kushal Bhurtel 35 to post the 180-target to Kuwait in the first match of Group B.
In the 40-overs a side match, Kuwait were restricted to 101 runs after 32 overs.
Nepal's Kalicharan Yadav, who claimed four Kuwait wickets giving mere 13 runs, was declared the man of the match.
