KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) today announced the final 23-member squad for the AFC Under-22 Asian Cup Group ‘D’ Qualifiers scheduled here for June 16-24.
Goalkeeper Amrit Kumar Chaudhary and defender Palsang Lama of Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC), defender Ajit Bhandari of Bouddha Football Club and forward Asim Jung Karki of New Road Team (NRT) failed to make the final cut.
Seven players have been selected from MMC, three from HSC. Likewise, two players each from NRT, Three Star and Machhindra Football Club and one each from i-league outfit HAL, Iceberg Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA), Nepal Police Club (NPC), Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) made it to the final squad.
Nepal will start their Group ‘B’ campaign with a match against Bangladesh on June 16 before meeting Yemen two days later. The hosts next face Uzbekistan on June 20 and will wrap up their group campaign with a clash against Jordan two days later.
