KATHMANDU: The hardline faction of UCPN-M led by Mohan Baidhya, is preparing to form a parallel committee in the Maoist students wing All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R).
The Baidhya faction already has parallel committees in the party’s various sister organisations such as youth, labour and peasant unions.
The Baidhya faction had organised a separate meet of its student leaders yesterday at Tribhuvan University Smriti Bhawan in Kirtipur to gear up for the formation of a parallel committee in the ANNISU-R.
More than 500 student leaders from across the country had participated in the gathering where Ram Bahadur Thapa, the party’s general secretary and Netra Bikram Chand, standing committee member had given orientation to student leaders on revolt.
One of the participants, on condition of anonymity, said that out of 203 ANNISU-R central committee members, around 70 members led by Sharad Chandra Rasaili, ANNISU-R vice president were present in the gathering.
He said the orientation was very revolutionary.
