KATHMANDU: All Nepal Teachers’ Organisation (ANTO) is organising its forth national convention in mid June.
The convention will be held from June 15 to 17 with the slogan‘national sovereignty, federalism with identity, unified educational protest for the development of people’s constitution with federalism, accessible, scientific, practical education and decent teaching profession’, said ANTO, organising a press meet in the Capital today.
The central committee meeting held on April 25 and 26 had decided to hold the convention, said Tulasi Prasad Ghimire, coordinator of the convention.
The meeting had also demanded to implement the agreement reached between the agitating teachers’ organisation and the government on March 15, 2012.
Ghimire said foreign interference in education should be stopped and the demands of temporary teachers should be addressed at the earliest.
