KATHMANDU: In spite of the fact that government has appealed to all agitating groups in the Far-west region to come for dialogue, indefinite strike demanding undivided Far-west has stayed on for the 12th consecutive day on Tuesday.
For past eleven days, Far-west Ekata Samaj and the Samyukta Lotantrik Paribesh, with supports from locals have been enforcing bandh, protesting against the UCPN-Maoist’s proposal to divide some parts of Kanchanpur and Kailali and include them in Tharuwan federal state while federating the state.
Though government on Monday formed a three-member talks teams lead by Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula to hold talks with the agitating groups, bandh enforcers seem to have paid no heed to government’s earnest request, for markets, transportation services, factories are still off in the region.
