Angola to hold parliamentary election on August 31

LISBON: Angola is set to held an election to choose lawmakers and the president on August 31, President Jose Eduardo dos Santos' office said in a statement on Wednesday.
Under a constitution approved in 2010, the head of the winning party in a parliamentary election becomes president.
The election will be only the second in the oil-producing African country after the end of a 27-year civil war a decade ago.
