KATHMANDU: A group of robbers barged into the private residence of President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav's niece Rekha Yadav at Reliable Colony in Bhainsepati on the outskirts of Lalitpur district at around 12:45 am on Wednesday, and looted the house at gun point.

According to SP Bhog Bahar Thapa, the chief of Lalitpur police, the robbers were seven in number and fortified with pistol and sharp weapons. The robbers overpowered two security guards, Rekha and her husband Bishnudev Yadav before robbing them of Rs one lakh in cash, 10 tola gold ornaments, a movie camera, a digital compact camera, a mobile set and four wrist watches.

They completed the heist in 45 minutes and fled the scene.

Police said the robbers are still at large.
