Assaulter Basnet turns up at court

KATHMANDU: The vice-chairman of Youth Association Nepal (YAN) Morang, Parshuram Basnet , whom police has been alleging as the mastermind behind the June 5 attack on journalist Khila Nath Dhakal, turned up before the Morang District court on Monday.
Basent was at large following the attack on Biratnagar-based journalist of Nagarik daily.
After the incident, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) an umbrella organisation of working journalists had filed an attempted murder case against Basnet.
Accompanied by YAN cadres, Basnet surrendered before the district court at 11 am, sources confirmed.
