KATHMANDU: Journalists of Avenues Television have submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar urging a stern action against the killer of Japa-based journalist Yadav Poudel in Singha Durbar on Thursday afternoon.
On the occasion, the journalists gave away pens to Prime Minister and Home Minister as a symbolic urge for them to maintain security for journalists and stand firm for press freedom.
Talking to the journalists in Singha Durbar today, Home Minister Gachhadar assured the journalists to take the strongest action possible against the culprits after the formation of a judicial probe commission.
As many as 50 journalists including Federation of Nepali Journalists The Himalayan Times chapter chairman Tika Ram Pradhan and Chairman of Reporters’ Club Nepal Rishi Dhamala were present during the delegation.
