KATHMANDU: Normal life in nine districts of eastern region has been thrown out of gear today due to the general strike imposed by Federal Limbuwan State Council.

Transportation services, educational institutes, industries, and market areas have been affected in Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Tehrathum , Dhankuta, , Sankhuwasabha, Sunsari, and Morang districts.

According to the Council, the bandh was enforced to mark August 6 as a Black Day.

History says Limbuwan State was attacked by King Prithivi Narayan Shah in the year 1831 BS.
