DHANGADHI: Far-west denizens on Saturday have intensified their protest demanding an integrated Far-west region.
Far-west Ekata Samaj and Samyukta Loktantrik Paribesh enforced indefinite shutdown in protest of the UCPN-Maoist proposals to divide some parts of Kailali and Kanchanpur and include them in Tharuwan State.
The protest has seriously crippled the normal life in the Far-west region where the educational institutions, marketplaces, businesses downed their shutters and buses of long and short routes stayed off the roads.
Manasakhanda Nepal and Buddhijibi Parishad have also expressed their solidarity with the bandh organising a press conference today. Demonstration committees have been formed in different places including in Tikapur, Attariya and Mahendranagar.
