KATHMANDU: Senior Vice-chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist Mohan Baidhya today said they would rather form a new communist party rather than remain a party without identity.
Addressing the inaugural of the National Cadres Gathering at Sherpa Sewa Kendra at Bouddha, Baidhya announced that they would move ahead by divorcing from the party establishment if needed. He said everybody was now aware who was for party unity and who was not. “Those who have been abandoning the party’s ideals were for a split, not those who have been struggling to safeguard them,” he said.
He further accused UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice-chairman Baburam Bhattarai of compromising on identity-based federalism by signing agreement with NC and UML on the eight-Pradesh model and 11-Pradesh-model, which was forcefully averted after the radical faction initiated a signature campaign.
Standing Committee member Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ said all the parties should accept the proposals of the Maoists without condition since they were endorsed by the blood of thousands of people.
Citing the Dahal-Bhattarai call for party unity, Chand said the party cannot remain united through speeches at Khulamanch. They have to sit for dialogue if they really are for party unity.
He further said the national cadres’ gathering will come up with answers to all the questions of the Nepali revolution and the problems of Nepali politics. Secretary C P Gajurel said the gathering will come up with a draft on how to bring drastic change in the country.
All the speakers, including Suresh Ale Magar of Jatiye and Kshetriye Mahasangh, Chairman of Madhesi Mukti Morcha Krishna Dev Singh Danuwar, Chairperson of All Nepal Women’s Association – Revolutionary Jayapuri Gharti Magar, Chairman of Dalit Liberation Front Tilak Pariyar and Ekraj Bhandari of disappeared families had stressed the need of a new revolutionary communist party.
They said a new communist party was essential as Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai had betrayed the revolution and deviated from the party line.
They also said the leadership now could not lead the revolution so a new leadership had to replace them. A new movement and revolution is inevitable. They alleged that the historical Constituent Assembly was sacrificed to save the Bhattarai-led government.

Bhattarai (Batboy) and Dahlal (Dhalbhat) are betraying the happiness, safety, health and welfare of the vast majority of peoples in Nepal by compromising. They are feathering thier own nest and enjoy being in power. They are falling for the trick of the 27 political parties by accepting federalism with indentity. The Nepali people will not be split according to identity to fight among themselves. The vast majority realize this is the trick of brahmin, chetri and newar. It is the brahmin, chetri and newar who the main struggle should be directed. The new communist party will defeat them once and for all! No compromise! parbati lama, Boston, USA

it is not good for Maoist itself and nation too. but in one sense, it is good for nation politics as Maoist chairman Prachand is doing very dirty politics, he is only utilizing other to fulfill his personal desire. i think, a conscious individual cannot believe on him. Nowadays, he is utilizing loktantric madhesi morcha who are the blind support of Maoist. pheku yadav, sisautiya-2,sarlahi nepal
