KATHMANDU: Three major political parties—the UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML, along with United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) are having a chit-chat on how to accelerate talks on the contentions issues in the new constitution, so that they don’t ingloriously have to transgress the May 27 deadline.

Resolving integration riddle; statute awaits consensus

As they have vowed that they would spend the remaining time on the constitutional issues after the integration issues are settled, today’s meet which is underway at the Hattiban Resort in the Capital is expected to dwell over:

a. How to forge consensus on key constitutional issues — forms of governance, federalism, election system, functioning of the judiciary and citizenship — by April 17 as per the mandate given to the Constitutional Committee.

b. Which of the contentious issues will be put to vote inside the CA hall.

c.Shorten the process of constitution-writing after amending the Article 70 of the Interim Constitution.

Great news! Our political leaders have demonstrated at long last they can talk and take good decisions to move forward. Our leaders will go in very well into history of Nepal if they complete statute in remaining period and free the nation, and pave the way for development. Nepal can be a prosperous nation with all the resources we have and one of the best tourist destination with the diversity we have. We can have smiles back in Nepalese face and see a happy country. I see positive intention at long last and ou can do it. Please dont waste the opportunity but persue to see a happy country that will make all Nepalese proud. Birendra Shrestha, Patan
