KATHMANDU: Three major parties – Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML including UDMF – are holding a meeting to forge consensus on remaining throny issues at Constituent Assembly Hall at Nayabaneshwor at 1 pm on Thursday.
It is learnt that the bigwigs’ meeting will render efforts to reach consensus on state restructuring and forms of governance while the parties have tentatively agreed on citizenship, judiciary and electoral system issues.
UCPN-M is urging the UDMF to support for directly elected presidential system while the UDMF is voicing its stance for the ceremonial president.
The party leaders who had participated in the earlier meeting had said that the issues of state restructuring and forms of governance would be resolved through voting.
Leaders including UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, NC President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Jhala Nath Khanal and MJF-D Bijaya Kumar Gachhar are scheduled to participate in the
