MADRID: Athletic Bilbao did well to battle out a 2-2 draw at chilly Valladolid on Friday, in an interesting Spanish midtable clash.
Early goals from Javi Guerra and Alberto Bueno gave Valladolid a 2-0 lead within 15 minutes, with the Bilbao defence looking shaky. But Oscar de Marcos pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 22nd minute by turning in a centre from fellow youngster Markel Susaeta.
And five minutes into the second half Susaeta made it 2-2 from close range after the Valladolid defence had failed to clear a corner. Susaeta and Ibai Gomez then came close to winning the game for Bilbao, with Valladolid keen to hear the final whistle. The draw left Valladolid 10th and Bilbao 13th.
