KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the government would bring a bill through ordinance to ensure employment to the youths.

Addressing a programme organised by the Unemployed Youths' Association in the capital on Tuesday, Prime Minister Bhattarai, however, said the support of youth was needed to bring this bill.

"Government is committed to create favourable atmosphere to unite youths and involve them in works", he said, adding that if the government cannot provide employment to jobless youths, they should be provided the unemployment allowance at least for 100 days. If it is done, it would be a significant task in the history, he argued.

He stressed the need of double digit growth and admitted that he could not do as per the people's expectation. PM Dr Bhattarai opined that he failed to implement his programme and policy as he was bound to work as per the policy and programme formulated by others.

Employment could be generated by mobilising internal resources and foreign investment, he said, adding that big and long term plans were brought through the Investment Board.

Moreover, he said, "Government can't move ahead without the cooperation of private sector. Environment for investment by the private sector was created through the Investment Board. "

He claimed that the political revolution would be concluded after holding Constituent Assembly election on November 22.

The Prime Minister further argued that he and his party had no role behind the dissolution of the CA.

He urged all political parties not to politicise the budget which is being brought in full scale.

According to the Prime Minister, his party, the UCPN-Maoist- was split because of the ideological difference. However, the split has not affected the party at all, he claimed.

He also made it clear that he and the party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had no misunderstanding at all. All sorts of problems would be solved after the seventh extended meeting of the party, according to him.

On the occasion, economist Dr Dilliraj Khanal stressed the need that government should bring the full-fledged budget to address unemployment problem.

Youths should keep alert over those who foil the government effort to bring full budget, he added.

Association General Secretary Pradip Saha presented a working paper on mobilisation of youths for economic prosperity and employment.

Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai honoured the Maoist central member Krishna KC and others who successfully scaled the Mt Everest and attended the Lumbini-Sagarmatha peace expedition. Even the mountaineers were honoured on the occasion.
