BIRATNAGAR: Two agents working for Ajit Sing Manpower company in Morang district have swindled youth Rs 20 million before fleeing.
The manpower agents, Dal Bahadur Adhikari of Sijuwa-3 and Jagat Bahadur Bhujel of Urlabari-3 had collected Rs 20 million from 40 youths luring them lucrative jobs in Afghanistan.
The agents collected Rs 5 lakh from each promising them high-paying jobs in Afghanistan.
A group of victims led by Prakash Chauhan of Damak-10, today, moved the District Administration Office, Morang and filed a case seeking help to retrieve their lost money.
According to the victims, the agents had called them to Pahadgunj of New Delhi to take a course in Afghani language.
“We stayed at a hotel in New Delhi for a month. Later, we had no option but to return home when the agents fled,” they lamented.
Meanwhile, Assistant CDO Gopal Prasad Parajuli said that they were searching for the conmen.
