RAJBIRAJ: Cadres of Broader Madhesi Front, who have been calling for One Madhes Pradesh and right to self-determination, hoisted black flags at the houses of CA members of Saptari on Saturday. It has been learnt that black flags were hoisted at the houses of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic CA member Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, who was elected from Saptari Constituency No 6, MJF-Nepal CA member Renu Kumari Yadav, who was elected from Constituency No 4, Federal Sadbhavana CA member Mahesh Kumar Yadav, who was elected from Constituency No 3, NC proportional CA member Shibachandra Mishra, UNCP-M proportional CA members Laxmi Chaudhary and Shivaram Yadav and Federal Democratic lawmaker Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary. — HNS

Two killed in jeep-fall

DADELDHURA: A jeep bound to Doti from Dhangadhi swerved off the road and fell 500 metres down on Saturday, killing the jeep driver Narendra Bista on the spot. The jeep veered off the road at Chhabbise along the Dadeldhura-Dhangadhi Bhimdutta Highway in Dadeldhura, said police. Jeep owner Mohan Rokaya, who was injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at Team Hospital, Dadeldhura. — HNS

One shot dead

ITAHARI: A district level member of the Unified CPN-Maoist has allegedly shot his friend to death. Anjani Rajdhami, a local Maoist leader, shot Rameswor Chaudhary (40) of Baklauri in Sunsari on Saturday at around 2:00am. Anjani opened fire on his friend over some financial disputes. After the incident, Anjani took Chaudhary’s motorbike and fled the scene. The motorbike was found in Dharan later. Chaudhary, who received multiple shots on his abdomen and chest, died while being rushed to the hospital, said police. Anjani is at large, but police have arrested Ramkumar Rajdhami for his involvement in the incident. — HNS

Man hacked to death

BIRATNAGAR: Raj Kumar Rai (25) of Sundarpur-4, Morang died after he was attacked by Ganesh Gurung, Dipen Tamang and Yadav Shrestha with a khukuri on Friday evening. The trio had attacked Rai after a dispute over a football match that was organised in Indrapur. Police said the culprits had attacked Rai with khukuri several times. Morang Deputy Superintendent of Police Uma Prasad Chaturbedi said police have begun searching for the killers who have been on the run since they committed the crime.
