KATHMANDU: Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association is organising the fourth Mr Himalaya Bodybuilding Championship in Dharan from October 12.

The two-day event features seven weight categories — 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and above 80kg — with the top five bodybuilders from each weight category making it to the final after prejudging round on the opening day. Top three finishers in each weight category will get Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000. The overall champion will grab a purse of Rs 100,000.

The participating club, association or organisation can field maximum 14 players — two each in seven categories, the organisers informed here during a press conference. The association is also conducting refreshment course for judges on the sidelines of the event.

Meanwhile, the association today also decided to conduct the selection tournament for the 46th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship on August 4. The regional bodybuilding meet will be held in Guangzhou, China from September 19-24.
