KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist General Secretary Posta Bahadur Bogati has said that the purported trip of his party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to India will be focused to boost the relations of the party with India, the southern neighbour.
Talking to the reporters at the Reporters’ Club on Friday leader Bogati, who is said to be loyal to Dahal, said that his party has reviewed its earlier fluctuating relation with India. He also expressed his confidence that the visit of his boss to India will establish the party’s relations with India in a new manner.
“We might have mistakes from our sides in our relations with India. We want to establish relations with India with a new approach,” Bogati said.
The Maoist boss, accompanied by his wife Sita Dahal, aide Shiva Khakurel and UCPN-Maoist leader, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, is visiting India from tomorrow.
Bogati termed his Chairman’s trip a friendly one and a party visit citing that the trip will focus on establishing new relation with the southern neighbour after the political changes in Nepal and India’s progress in the development.
However, the former Minister made it clear that Dahal, being head of the largest party and former prime minister, will also hold talks on issues related to the bilateral relations of Nepal and India, economic development and concerns of the neighbouring countries.
