MAHENDRANAGAR: Police said a bomb was found in Suda VDC office, Kanchanpur, this morning.

The bomb wrapped in plastic was found packed in a box in front of the main door of upper storey of the building. A pamphlet of Samyukta Jatiya Mukti Morcha Nepal was also found near the bomb planted area.

The five-point demand mentioned in the pamphlets were to stop the

conspiracy to revive aristocracy, promulgation of new constitution on time, formation of Free Ethnic and Backward Community’s Rights Concerned Draft Committee in the Constituent Assembly among others.

A bomb disposal squad and the Nepali Army reached the VDC office soon after getting the information about the bomb plantation.

The bomb was detonated by Bhagatpur-based Nepali Army’s 25 number battalion’s Hanumandhowj company. Police suspect the bomb might have planted at night.

According to police sources an investigation into the case has already started. Locals were petrified with the news that a bomb was found in the

VDC which is just five-kilometer away from the headquarters.
